About Dr. Leathers

Samantha Leathers, MD evaluates and treats adults in her private practice in Manhattan, practicing psychiatry, psychoanalysis, psychotherapy, and medication management. She is on the faculty of the Psychoanalytic Association of New York (PANY) and has been a Clinical Instructor of Psychiatry at New York University School of Medicine. Dr. Leathers is a board-certified psychiatrist by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Leathers graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Pennsylvania State University, earning a B.S. in Animal Bioscience, with honors in Biobehavioral Health. She earned her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in 2013. While at the University of Pittsburgh, she was nominated to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society, a distinction that is based on scholastic achievement, professionalism, leadership, community service, and research.

Following medical school, Dr. Leathers proceeded to complete her training in Psychiatry in 2017 at the New York University of Medicine. While in residency, she was accepted into the Psychoanalytic Association of New York Adult Psychoanalytic Training program and graduated the program in 2023.
